This presentation provides valuable pointers, tips, and shortcuts for an interested person to quickly get the most out of birding and to become a skilled birder. Topics covered include binocular selection, field guide options (and how to use efficiently), best approaches to finding birds (where, when and how), and recommendations to heighten fun and lessen frustration

Owner, Steve Hale, holds university degrees in marine biology, evolutionary biology, and ecology.  He has lived in New England over 25 years and has explored most of the region.  An avid hiker, birder, and experienced naturalist, Steve loves to share his experience and knowledge with others. In 2016, Steve started Open World Explorers wherein he gives presentations to libraries, birding clubs, garden clubs, and more. Steve also guides birdwatching tours and classes and he is a permitted guide on the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island.
